Everthing You Need to Know about Cyberjaya Mosque

The Masjid Raja Fisabilillah in Cyberjaya is Malaysia’s first mosque to be awarded with a Platinum – Green Building Index, using LED lights, natural air ventilation, rooftop solar panels, and rainwater harvesting system. The mosque can cater up to 5,000 worshippers at any one time.

The mosque was named after Raja Haji Fisabilillah ibni Daeng Chelak, a Bugis warrior from Penyengat Island, Indonesia. He was also the Yang Dipertuan Muda (Crown Prince) of the Johor-Riau Sultanate from 1777 to 1784.

Also called the Green Mosque, this futuristic mosque hosts a wide range of activities such as marriage ceremonies and community activities. As it’s a holy place, do dress conservatively and be courteous to worshippers when visiting the mosque. The mosque provides robes for those who wish to visit and enter the mosque.

The mosque was constructed from 5 April 2013 and was completed on 24 February 2015. The mosque was officially opened on 22 June 2016 by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah in conjunction with the Nuzul Quran celebration on 17 Ramadan 1437 Hijra.

The Cyberjaya Lake Garden or Taman Tasik Cyberjaya in Malay covers an area of about 400 acres. It features the following areas:

  • The Visitor’s Information Center
  • A colorful Children’s Playground
  • A Ginger Garden
  • A Lookout Tower
  • A carpark (tempat letak kereta), and
  • A Fitness Station.

It also has the beautifully named “Wind Chime Island” (Pulau Wind Chime) which is really but a shed beside the lake – and there are several around the gardens.

There are many picnic spots there too. The crowd is low, so it was rather peaceful there. People could spent close to an hour there & the toilet also available near the parking lot.

If you are a runner or a jogger, one loop around the lake will net you around 1KM. Good place to run under hot sun too. Covered with trees Weekends would be good if you take kids with you!

Taman Tasik Cyberjaya is another favourite spot for cycling, especially among students studying in the nearby universities. You can also find a shady spot to relax and read a book.

Taman Saujana Hijau, Presint 11 Putrajaya

Mother of all gardens in Putrajaya. Enjoy the scenic tropical rainforest canopy. Beautiful botanical garden outside of Kuala Lumpur. Creatively landscaped gardens with unique paving with botanical imprints. Wonderful range of plants. 

The garden provides marvellous places for a picnic as well as a lakeside boardwalk! The 230 acres are also planted with trees, shrubs and flowers which bloom throughout the year.

Taman Wawasan, Lebuh Bestari Presint 2, Putrajaya

Taman Wawasan is located on the Northern section of the Core Island area in Precinct 2. The park is bordered by the Putrajaya Lake and Canal on one side, while along the Western side is the hard edged city fabric of the Persiaran Perdana. Fifty hectares of lush greenery, landscaped gardens, courtyards with squirting fountains and extensive flower beds make this park a great spot on which to feast your eyes.

Inhale the fresh air while you tackle the tough uphill track. and then you’re heading downhill, passing a pebbled beach and admiring distant views of Perdana Putra and the Wawasan Bridge. No hawker stalls are allowed here, so bring your own refreshments.
