They were pleasantly surprised by the numerous dishes served for Hi Tea. The place was bright n spacious.

The crowd was not overly noisy. Very pleasant atmosphere to have a bit of family conversation while filling our tummies with the delicious food – Malay, chinese, Indian, Japanese n Italian. You name it, Latest Recipe has it: satay, curry fish head, naan, pizza, hainanese chicken rice, butter prawns n much more.

Named after Malaysia’s first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al Haj. Its trademark pink domes is one of Putrajaya’s popular landmarks. Surrounded by Putrajaya Lake and facing Putra Square. The mosque was built between 1997 and 1999.

Constructed out of rose-tinted granite, which gives it an alluring pinkish hue. The mosque is modelled after the Persian Islamic architecture of the Safavid period. Its basement wall is reminiscent of the one in Morocco’s King Hassan Mosque. While its 116-metre minaret resembles that of the Sheikh Omar Mosque in Baghdad.

The mosque can accommodate 15,000 worshippers at a time.

Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin (Iron Mosque Putrajaya)

The mosque was named after the country’s 13th Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Wathiqu Billah Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah. It began construction in April 2004 and was completed in August 2009. Also know as Iron Mosque Putrajaya.

The mosque relies on natural ventilation and an air-cooling technology called ‘Gas District Cooling’ to ensure that the air within the building stays cool even without the use of fans or air conditioners. 

Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin didn’t borrow design ideas from the Middle East, but instead adopts a combination of Chinese and German architectural styles. It is also doesn’t come with a minaret.
