Your journey will begin here as you enter the scenic and immense park, with a total area a nearly 400 acres. Rows of trees consisting a species such as Merawan Siput Jantan, Jelutong and Kapur will welcome you at the main entrance of the park.

# Explorer’s Trail 2

Get ready to delve further into the natural treasures of Taman Rimba Alam. This route will take you to the highest point of the park. Discover tree species such as Kelumpang Burung, Tongkat Ali Hitam, Kembang Semangkuk Jantung and Kekatong.


It is highly advised that you keep an insect repellent handy and use it often throughout this journey

You may experience a slight change of mood when strolling aling this route. With the sound of forest-dweling birds and insects and picturesque landscape rsembling an actual tropical rainforest, one easily forget that he is still in Putrajaya.

Continue your journey aling this last route. Have you ever come across the habitat of manau rattan? Take a closer look at the one and only rattan species that can be found in this park. This species is becoming scare and is in short supply due to over-exploilation of rorest

Be cautious, as  wild boars and monkeys often prowl atound this area. You are advised to visit the park during daytime and walk in groups.

# Explorer’s Trail

  • Canopy Bridge – enjoy the scenic tropical rainforest canopy. This 170 metres long bridge runs across a vailey cultivated with various species of rainforest trees.
  • Heliconia Trail – Explore the Heliconia Trail that is abundant with heliconia species and banana of various shapes and colours.
  • Vine Garden – A special garden adorned with a collection of climber plants such as king’s mantie, bauhinia and bread flower.

# Putra Mosque

The pink-domed Putra Mosque is constructed with rose-tinted granite and can accommodate 15,000 worshippers at any one time. The basement wall of the mosque resembles that of the King Hassan Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. In front of the mosque is a large square with flagpoles flying Malaysian states’ flags.

# Prime Minister’s Office (Perdana Putra)

The Perdana Putra is a building in Putrajaya, Malaysia which houses the office complex of the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Located on the main hill in Putrajaya, it has become synonymous with the executive branch of the Malaysian federal government.

# Prime Minister Official Residence (Seri Perdana)

The Seri Perdana Complex is the official residence of the Prime Minister of Malaysia which is also used for welcoming heads of state, heads of government, state dignitaries and the public.

In line with the principle that Seri Perdana “belongs to the people”, certain parts of the complex, namely the Protocol Block and Banquet Block, are open to the public.

# Millennium Monument

Learn the Malaysian history at Millennium Monument which is located on a 25 hectare park in Precinct 2 on the waterfront centre of Putrajaya. From a distance, it looks like a giant pencil standing on an oil rig but it is designed to be in the shape of a hibiscus flower when viewed from above.

# Putrajaya Skyrides

Next to the Millennium Monument is the Putrajaya Skyrides. It is the latest attraction in Putrajaya. You get to ride in the 13m gondola and go up to the sky at about 500 feet of height. You’ll get to enjoy a 360-degree spectacular view of Putrajaya.

# Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque

This is the second most visited mosque in Putrajaya after the central Putra Mosque. Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin was named after the country’s 13th Yang Di-Pertuan Agong. Able to fit up to 20,000 worshippers at a time. The mosque was built out of 6000 tonnes of reinforced stainless steel which makes up 70% of its structure, earning it the moniker, Steel Mosque.

Unlike most mosques in the country, this mosque didn’t borrow design ideas from the Middle East, but instead adopts a combination of Chinese and German architectural styles. In addition, it doesn’t come with a minaret.

# Cycling in Putrajaya

Find the right bike route for you through Putrajaya. The routes you most commonly find here are of the flat type. Most people get on their bikes to ride here in the months of April and May. Dataran Putrajaya is a popular hangout for families. Experienced cyclists can try a 10.5km ride around the city.

# Palace of Justice

The Istana Kehakiman or Palace of Justice is a majestic looking building, and houses the judicial department and courts. Since the area has a large courtyard, it is often used as a venue for national level events such as Colours of Malaysia fest, and many more.

A great place for outdoor photography, with the impressive domed minarets as a focal viewpoint.

Located in Precinct 2, this market is a local gastronomic haven for foodies looking for fresh and tasty treats. Rows of stalls are set up along the promenade, offering just about anything you need, from local delicacies and fruit juices, to fresh produce, souvenirs and household items. These amazing Putrajaya Farmer’s Market is held on Tuesdays and Fridays 18.00 – late.

# Putrajaya Lake and Bridge

Nightlife in Putrajaya is relatively quiet as this district houses mostly government buildings and residential neighbourhoods. Alternatively, you can enjoy some peaceful sightseeing along the Putrajaya Lake and Bridge, which lights up in colourful LED lights in the evening and well into the night.

# Taman Putra Perdana

Taman Putra Perdana is located at the highest point in Precinct 1. It is surrounded by Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah and acts as an intermediator between the natural domains to the North and the Government and Commercial domains to the South and East.

The park is among the best place to enjoy a panoramic view of Putrajaya.

# Putrajaya Wetland

Taman Wetland is believed to be the largest constructed freshwater wetlands in the tropics. It is the first man-made wetland in Malaysia, which includes a Wetland Park (138 hectares) and the wetland areas (1977 hectares). The Wetland now is also a wildlife sanctuary which attracts a huge variety of animals to the combined terrestrial-aquatic wetland environment.

# Saujana Hijau Park

# Putrajaya Challenge Park

Putrajaya Challenge Park or Taman Cabaran is a 30 hectare park in Putrajaya’s Precinct 5 containing some of the best extreme park facilities in Asia. This well designed park has three main attractions: Indoor Rock Wall Climbing Complex, Skate Park and Thrill Park & Mountain Bike Trails.

# Wawasan Park

Taman Wawasan is located on the Northern section of the Core Island area in Precinct 2. The park is bordered by the Putrajaya Lake and Canal on one side, while along the Western side is the hard edged city fabric of the Persiaran Perdana.

# Taman Selatan

# Seri Saujana Bridge

The bridge’s design is a unique combination of a symmetric cable-stayed structure and a through-arch bridge; the through-arch bridge portion is reminiscent of a slender version of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

# Putra Bridge

# Putrajaya Monorail bridge

The stalled project has often been described as the missing link of the public transport system designed for the federal administrative capital.

Best Budget Travel Destination in Penang

Penang, also known as the pearl of the orient, is one of the most touristic locations of Malaysia. It is located at a Latitude of 5°22’8.37″N and Longitude of 100°15’40.00″E. The island (285 square meters) is situated on the northwest side of the Peninsular Malaysia. Although is the second smallest state in Malaysia, it is also the most densely populated. The capital of Penang is George Town.

If you would like to do more trekking in Penang, you may also want to visit the National Park where there are miles of jungle treks and beautiful beaches to visit, as well as a turtle sanctuary. At 23 sq km it’s Malaysia’s smallest national park, but you can fill a day with activities as diverse as jungle walks, fishing and sunbathing on quiet, golden-sand beaches.

There is no entrance fee for visitors to Penang National Park (Taman Negara Pulau Pinang). However, for canopy walkway activity, the fee charged for adults is RM5.00 and RM3.00 for children.

Jungle Trekking: 2 main treks starting from the main entrance:

Visit Penang War Museum

This Penang War Museum situated on Bukit Batu Maung was erected on the original defence complex built by British before World War II in 1930’s by the British to protect the island from enemies.

Entrance Fee:

  • For Malaysian and foreigners with working permit is RM15/adult and RM7.50/child.
  • Foreigners visitors are charged RM30/adult and RM15/child.

Additional charges are applicable ranges from RM5 to RM15 for optional tours such as tunnel tour, observation tower, tunnel view and canon firing bay.

Enjoy the Batu Ferringhi beach

Go to the beach for walks, tanning and sunset.

Most beaches on Penang can be found at Batu Ferringhi. If you want to get to the private beaches, usually you can just enter the hotel and enter the garden through the lobby. The public beach at Batu Ferringhi has a few activities such as horseback riding, parasailing, jet skies, surfing and sailing.

Be cautious while participating in any of these activities they are at own risk. Also beware of jellyfish because Mr Google said, sometimes they can be found along the coast of Penang in huge amounts.

Hike up Penang Hill

Once you know about Penang Hill hiking trail, your weekends on the island will never be the same again. If you are on a budget or love to combine exercise with sightseeing then you could hike up to Penang Hill.

Penang Hill has an interesting history. The peak stands 833 meter high. It was originally a retreat during the British settlement. It’s the oldest British hill station in Southeast Asia, around late 1700’s. The path is narrow, and can be slippery at times, especially at the bottom where the climb is steeper. Though as you make your way into the jungle you soon realise just how beautiful this hike will be.
