Changkat Bukit Bintang

Changkat has grown organically is open, friendly and fun. Changkat Bukit Bintang is a network of alleys and streets that make part of the Bukit Bintang area. It is the street with the most vibrant restaurant scenes in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Foodies would love the wide variety of gastronomic choices from authentic traditional dishes to fusion cuisines.

Night Market (Pasar Malam)

Pasar Malam are an incredibly prominent feature in the Malaysian shopping experience. Available in every state throughout the country, these after-dark souks are all the rage because they allow locals and tourists to shop for inexpensive goods. Busy streets within residential neighbourhoods are shut down to traffic (one day only in a week) and stalls are set up as early as 6pm.

In Kuala Lumpur, you can find many night markets happening each day in different places throughout the weeks selling all sorts of merchandise under the sun.

The city’s average temperatures range between 29°C – 35°C during the day and 26°C – 29°C at night, though it may get colder after periods of heavy rainfall. As it is shielded by mountainous terrains, KL is relatively cooler than most places in Malaysia while being one of the least affected by monsoon winds coming from the east or west.

Occasional rainfall results in humid yet cooler temperatures than average and the city’s temperate weather makes travelling here all year round a pleasure.

Menara PNB 118

Menara PNB 118 or KL118 which is its formerly used name, is a 118 floors megatall skyscraper currently being built in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
PNB is abbreviation of Permodalan Nasional Berhad, which is Malaysia’s biggest fund management company and the owner of the tower.

The best way to access to the Merdeka PNB 118 Tower is by metro, visitors can take Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line and stop at Merdeka MRT station, after get out the station just walk towards the site of the tower for just one or two minutes.

The architectural height of Merdeka PNB 118 is 644 meters (2113 feet), the roof of the tower will be at a height slightly over 500 meters, as its highest occupied floor is at 500 meters high. Galeri PETRONAS

Galeri PETRONAS is a non-profit visual art gallery that is primarily dedicated to documenting and promoting works created by Malaysian artists, especially Malaysian artwork. KLCC Park

The KLCC Park is a 50-acre public park located in the vicinity of Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. It was designed by a Brazilian architect named Roberto Burle Marx with the aim to ‘leave the world a little more sensitive and a little more educated to the importance of nature’.

There is also a man-made lake built in the middle of the park, directly in front of Suria KLCC mall and PETRONAS Twin Towers. An elevated bridge of 43 metres that cut across the lake provides a vantage view of the park and the twin towers

Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is a purpose-built convention and exhibition centre strategically located in the centre tip of the city and designed to be a ‘city within a city’; this 40-hectare (99-acre) site includes the 20-hectare (50-acre) KLCC Park and the PETRONAS Twin Towers.

Perdana Botanical Gardens

The Perdana Botanical Garden, formerly known as Taman Tasik Perdana or Lake Gardens, is situated in the Heritage Park of Kuala Lumpur. It has always been a part of the green lung of the city and has a history of over a decade.

Originally created as part of a recreational park but planted with collections of tropical plants, the garden have been rehabilitated and turned into a Botanical Garden.

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park

Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is well known as the “World’s Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary”, home to more than 3,000 birds of approximately 200 species of local and foreign birds. The Park offers 20.9 acres of valley terrain to be explored, divided into four zones; Zone 1 and 2 make up the freeflight zone; Zone 3 is the Hornbill Park and Zone 4 is where birds are placed in separate cages and mini aviaries. Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park

Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park is a large area of over 80,000 square feet of landscaped gardens with over 5,000 live butterflies, exotic plants, butterfly-host plants and ferns. This is a paradise for nature lovers and photographers who desire close-up views of these rare delicate butterflies fluttering around beautiful flowers, plants, ferns and flowering vines.

Other attractions of this park are the Japanese Koi fish, fresh water turtles, live insects and a museum with a large collection of butterflies and insects from around the world.

Kuala Lumpur Orchid Garden

The Orchid Garden houses up to 800 species of orchids. The garden comprises a semi-circle pergola for the climbing and epiphytic variety and a rock garden for the terrestrial variety.

Kuala Lumpur Hibiscus Garden

The Hibiscus Park showcases the various species of Malaysia’s national flower, the Bunga Raya (Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis). Some of the attractions in the garden include a 4-metre high waterfall, pools and fountains. A lovely colonial style building has been converted into an exhibition hall with a tearoom and a gallery.

Kuala Lumpur Deer Park

The KL Deer Park which is a 2 hectare enclosure, houses a few species of deer including mousedeer. The mousedeer, also known as the chevrotain, is the smallest hoofed animal in the world. The other species that are in the park are the fallow deer, axis deer and sambar deer.

KLCC Park

The park is unique in its theme and concept. This verdant area accentuated with specially designed water features is a work of art. It features various amenities such as a two-acre children’s playground, symphony fountain, wading pool, jogging track, shelters and benches, patterned foot-paths and sculptures. Approximately 1,900 indigenous trees and palms representing 74 species are planted to encourage bio-diversities within the park areas.

Another striking feature of the park is the Lake Symphony which comprises two water fountains. Located at the esplanade outside Suria KLCC, the Lake Symphony is programmed to provide 150 magical dramatic animations. The total effect is a light hearted and gregarious atmosphere.

Titiwangsa Park

Taman Tasik Titiwangsa is a recreational park with a large lake as its main attraction. A popular rendezvous amongst city dwellers, it offers tennis courts, an exercise area, a playground for children and other recreational facilities for water sports, jogging and the like. Located nearby is the Remote Control (RC) Car track that is complete with a drivers platform and seating for spectators, making it a popular attraction among RC enthusiasts on the weekends.

Also within the vicinity of the park is a stadium. This 95 hectares park is a vast area that consists of a 57 hectares lake where anglers will be glad to know that they are allowed to fish here. Other facilities at the park include a Remote Control car track, a cycling track, a football field, a boathouse and aquatic activities, a viewing tower, playground and pavilion.

KL Forest Eco Park

Kuala Lumpur is the only city in the world that has a natural rainforest situated right at its centre. The KL Forest Eco Park (formerly know as the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve) was gazetted as a forest reserve in 1906 and is one of the oldest in Malaysia.

Situated near the forest is one of the city’s skyline icons, the Kuala Lumpur Tower, which was constructed with utmost attention being paid to the environment to ensure that the natural surroundings of KL Forest Eco Park remain undisturbed.

Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM)

The Forest Research Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) is located in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. Established 75 years ago, it is undoubtedly one of the leading institutions in tropical forestry research in the world. FRIM offers a back-to-nature experience whilst enjoying the flora, fauna, landscapes and the remains of an old Orang Asli settlement.

A waterfall and river cutting through this forest reserve adds serenity to this luxuriant landscape. FRIM is a truly educational place for children as well as a great weekend outing place for the entire family. For the more adventurous ones, check out the four jungle tracks: Keruing Trail, Rover Track, Engkabang Trail and Salleh Trail, all of which will take visitors through some of the spectacular secondary forests in Malaysia.

Kepong Metropolitan Park

The Kepong Metropolitan Park, located at the Northern end of Jinjang, is famous among locals for the kite flying activities that are practiced at this public facility on a daily basis. The ideal place for kite enthusiasts, there is a huge field that runs parallel to the main road in the park that is specifically for this purpose. Most barriers and trees have been removed to ensure a clearance of at least 100m for the kites to take off.
