Launched by the fifth prime minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Aug 25, 2007, the inaugural edition of Floria Putrajaya was themed Rainbow Serenade and showcased the national flower, hibiscus, as the theme flower.

The event has grown over the years, drawing participants from overseas and hundreds of thousands of visitors.

It also serves as a platform for landscape architects to demonstrate their creativity, art and professionalism to the general public via competitions that are open to corporate bodies, government agencies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Another benefit the event has brought to local floral designers is the exposure to the art and techniques practised by foreign participants and the opportunity to learn the latest techniques practised in other countries.

The Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta makes its return home to Precinct 2 in time to celebrate it’s 10th anniversary!

Happening from the 28th – 31st March 2019, AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd, the nation’s pioneer of all things ballooning will again reprise their role as the organiser of this beloved free-for-all event.

In case you’re wondering, here’s the ticketing schedule for this year’s #myballoonfiesta.

The mass ascension of hot air balloons will happen on all four mornings in Blue Zone. Balloon pilots will be flying sponsors, media and MyBalloonAdventure passengers. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the view for FREE.

Get an intimate look of the balloons by being inside the launching field area. Meet and greet the pilots and have the opportunity to take cool photos of the balloons with the Launching Field Access.

Get ready for the 10th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta that takes place in March every year as there are plenty of quirky and eye-catching air balloons for all of us to see!

The 10th edition of the Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in 2019 will again be held in Precinct 2 in Putrajaya, near the Alaf Baru Monument. The fun family event will last for 4 days, from the 28th until the 31th of March 2019. Normally, the activities start daily from 7am and end around 9.30pm.

There also will be a balloon igloo showcase — which are made out of recycled hot air balloons, a corporate area for partners to exhibit their products, a food and beverage park to quench visitors’ thirst and satiate everyone’s appetite as well as other fun activities.

The highlight of the fiesta and crowd favourite Night Glow will make a comeback this year, with a big surprise in store for visitors. Aside from all of that, other fun activities that you and your loved ones could take part in include the Hare and Hound competition, Firework Show, meet-and-greet the foreign and local balloonists and an aviation show to wow you too.

Hare and Hound competition also known as the Rudy’s Trophy, named after the founder of Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, will be hosted by the organiser as an added highlight especially for the pilots, enabling them to showcase their flying skills as they breeze through the skies of Putrajaya and compete with each other.

Besides hot air balloon rides, there are also other activities to make this an interesting affair to attend, including various food trucks, cultural performances, balloon workshops, and an evening balloon with fireworks display.

20 hot air balloons of various shapes and colours are expected to make it to the event this year from all over the world including Belgium, India, United Kingdom, Spain, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand.

For the past three years, the fiesta has exhibited hot air balloon shows and other aviation sports to the public, and the turnout has been pretty impressive from year to year.

Taman Saujana Hijau, Presint 11 Putrajaya

Ride your bicycle through a hot sweltering English garden on tracks that are lined with conifer and Sumatran pine, a European garden filled with fir and kauri pine and an Oriental garden lush with Japanese cypress and Chinese juniper.

Putrajaya Botanical Garden, Presint 1 Putrajaya

Mother of all gardens in Putrajaya. Enjoy the scenic tropical rainforest canopy. Beautiful botanical garden outside of Kuala Lumpur. Creatively landscaped gardens with unique paving with botanical imprints. Wonderful range of plants. 

The garden provides marvellous places for a picnic as well as a lakeside boardwalk! The 230 acres are also planted with trees, shrubs and flowers which bloom throughout the year.

Taman Wawasan, Lebuh Bestari Presint 2, Putrajaya

Taman Wawasan is located on the Northern section of the Core Island area in Precinct 2. The park is bordered by the Putrajaya Lake and Canal on one side, while along the Western side is the hard edged city fabric of the Persiaran Perdana. Fifty hectares of lush greenery, landscaped gardens, courtyards with squirting fountains and extensive flower beds make this park a great spot on which to feast your eyes.

Inhale the fresh air while you tackle the tough uphill track. and then you’re heading downhill, passing a pebbled beach and admiring distant views of Perdana Putra and the Wawasan Bridge. No hawker stalls are allowed here, so bring your own refreshments.

Central Putrajaya
