Pantai Leka is a beach and bird sanctuary in Parit Jawa, about 10 kilometres from Muar, in Johor, Malaysia; it has an area of approximately twenty hectares and provides food and shelter for migratory birds.

The conservation of the local mangrove forests in these areas is paramount in protecting these rare species – this is done by controlling the cutting of mangrove trees, to protect the birds’ habitat.

Of course, any time is also a good time to enjoy grilled fish and asam pedas at the halal restaurants here. Non-halal seafood is also available. You can also take a stroll along the jetty or sit in the children’s playground to admire the glorious sunset before the culinary pleasure. (Google Maps)

Muar Beach – Review

Place very relaxing. Can see China ocean from here. Suitable for family and couples too. 5star given. Thumbs up. Rozanna Hassan

This small fishing conclave is around 20km out of Muar city, there is a quay for visitors to walk and fishing boats to dock at the bay. Most fisherman will go out early in the morning or late night and return with there catches in the morning. Visitors can buy fresh fish or can enjoy grilled fish at few of the restaurants there. There is a playground for children to play in and also some excercising equipments for adults to work out. Another attraction if the bird watching watch tower build next to the swamp, visitors can enjoy bird watching or just enjoy the sun set with a cool sea breeze. Mohammad Ahmad
